Even though Juneteenth has only recently been recognized as a federal holiday, observations of this date has played an important role in the development of American culture. Dr. Kimberly Stanley, assistant history professor at Indiana State University, will explain the history of Juneteenth and the impact that its celebration has had over the past 150 years.
