Adult Services Assistant: Full-Time

Job Overview

Vigo County Public Library is seeking a full-time Adult Services Assistant to assist customers with the library’s meeting room reservation bookings and related processes, provide Notary Public services for library customers, and work collaboratively on special department and system-wide projects in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL.

General requirements for the Adult Services Assistant position include excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people; computer skills with the ability to learn new software programs; ability to work independently and maintain efficient workflow; strong commitment to community service; excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to project patience and construct positive interactions; ability to maintain confidential information; organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.

Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; active Notary Public License.

Special Collections Clerk: Part-Time

Job Overview

If you’re an avid fan of local history and genealogy research, enjoy working with people, and want to work in an inclusive environment, this job may be for you!

Vigo County Public Library is seeking a part-time Special Collections Clerk to assist customers seeking information such as obituary notices, genealogy records, and various other archived and special records available in various formats and through various resources. This position also assists in the maintenance of SPC research resources and works collaboratively on special SPC department and system-wide projects in support of the goals and objectives of the library.

Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent

Tech Team Technician: Part-Time

Job Overview

Vigo County Public Library is seeking a part-time Tech Team Technician to assist customers using library computers and technology resources, Haute Create, printing, copying, and faxing services, and oversees reservations for library collaborative spaces. The Tech Team Technician participates in department initiatives that develop and promote the VCPL as a source of technology information and exploration for the community and supports the goals and objectives of the Vigo County Public Library.

Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent

General requirements for the Tech Team Technician position include interest and enthusiasm for working with the public; excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people; computer skills with experience using Windows and Microsoft applications, and high comfort level for learning and using various software programs and platforms; computer keyboard skills; ability to provide one on one customer instruction regarding the use of computers, Internet searches, computer software & equipment; excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to project patience and construct positive interactions; ability to maintain confidential information.
