The Vigo County Public Library will host a reception for the Emerald Necklace exhibition, a collection of restored maps and blueprints designed for the City of Terre Haute by renowned landscape architect, George Kessler.  The Emerald Necklace exhibition, named for the connecting design of the urban parks Kessler integrated into his plan for Terre Haute, will be a featured component of the celebration for the State of Indiana and the City of Terre Haute's 200th anniversaries in 2016.  Enjoy a presentation from Tom Roznowski and Pat Martin, and enjoy refreshments during this bicentennial celebration.  This program is supported in part by a grant from the Indiana Humanities.

Handwriting Without Tears teaches beginning literacy and fine motor skills through multisensory activities perfect for those with physical disabilities and kids on the spectrum. Instructors are prepared to adapt the lessons to meet specific needs.  This program is a collaboration between ISU's Community School of the Arts; ISU's Occupational Therapy program and Saint Mary of the Woods Music Therapy program. Dr. Paula Jarrard (supervisor) and Occupational Therapy graduate students, along with Prof Sharon R. Boyle (supervisor) and Music Therapy undergraduate students, will facilitate sessions. Handwriting Without Tears teaches beginning literacy and fine motor skills through multisensory activities perfect for those with physical disabilities and kids on the spectrum. Instructors are prepared to adapt the lessons to meet specific needs.  This program is a collaboration between ISU's Community School of the Arts; ISU's Occupational Therapy program and Saint Mary of the Woods Music Therapy program. Dr. Paula Jarrard (supervisor) and Occupational Therapy graduate students, along with Prof Sharon R. Boyle (supervisor) and Music Therapy undergraduate students, will facilitate sessions.
