The High Cost of Fast Fashion

The High Cost of Fast Fashion

Main Library
Lifelong Learning Center
Thursday, April 23 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

In "fast fashion," cheap but trendy clothing
moves from the catwalk to the store as
quickly as possible to meet consumer
demand. But what is the impact of fast
fashion on the environment, on those that
produce these items, and on consumers'
wallets? Join Megan Stoner, Regional
Coordinator for the South at Fashion
Revolution USA, founder of Thryfted, and
up-cycling designer for Stoner Drive, over
Skype to discuss the impact of this demand-driven industry. This event is coordinated in
conjunction with Fashion Revolution Week,
an annual event that challenges consumers
to consider who makes their clothing
