The Vigo County Public Library, West Branch in partnership with Purdue Extension, Marie West and other local community organizations will help you get in the game this summer.  Activities include cooking, planting, crafts, fun science experiments and outdoor games.  Library programs will run from 1pm to 3pm each day and registration is required.  Parental involvement and participation are encouraged at all young peoples' events and programs.

Erin Gregory from the Vigo County YMCA invites parents to come work out and play with your little one at the same time! It will be a learning experience for both parties. There will be a mix of yoga, strength, and some cardio. This program will incorporate parents and toddlers ages 2-5 on various exercise moves that can be performed together.

Come and enjoy fitness with your little one! Parents of tots ages 3-5 will learn various cardio and yoga exercise moves that can be performed together. This program will allow for parents to get a workout in and play along with their child at the same time, which will be a great learning experience for both parent and child!

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some fun. The Vigo County Public Library (VCPL) will feature a night of three different styles of dance. The Sparkettes, a dance team made up of young women will here to teach a hip hop dance routine. We will also feature country line dancing made up of choreographed dance moves and repeated steps.  Lastly, we will feature a children's Zumba class that will feature kid friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography.  Come join us for this Moovin' and Groovin' event! Ready, set, dance!

Battle against the Death Star's might or practice using the Force in Jedi Training: the choice is yours when visiting the Vigo County Public Library for Star Wars Academy. Join fellow force-users for an evening of skills assessment, assisting smugglers in their attack on a massive Imperial space station, and building sidekicks in the safety of our hangar here in the Youth Services Department.

Let Professor Steve dazzle your kids & adults with basketball-related experiments & demonstrations as we look at the game from a scientific viewpoint.  Principles of air-pressure, combustion, energy & biology will be explored, combined with sports principles such as teamwork, following directions & listening to the coach.
