Have you ever heard about "exoplanets"? They are planets outside the solar system and there are about 1800 of them! Summer Reading Club participants and their families are invited to a special presentation about our solar system at the Allen Planetarium at South Vigo High School by the planetarium director, Holly Hudson. She will also show us the night sky and share new information on the "exoplanets." The first show is from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and the second is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Admittance is free, but everyone must have a ticket since space is limited. Please visit Youth Services or West Branch to pick up your tickets.

Visit the Dome Theater, a mobile planetarium experience for children of all ages! A variety of science themed videos will be offered throughout the day. Due to the nature of the event, each 20 minute performance will be limited to approximately 30 attendees. Free tickets will be available, while supplies last, beginning Saturday, May 31. Tickets must be picked up in person at the Youth Services Desk, and can not be held or reserved. Standby requests will be honored on a space available basis the day of the event.

Celebrate summer reading by joining us for this free double feature movie showing! Follow Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and other Marvel characters as they fight to save mankind in The Avengers. Then, stick around to watch Thor battle evil forces as he tries to save Earth and Asgard from destruction in Thor: The Dark World. Movie Information: PG-13 (children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult). The Avengers (3:00-5:30): PG-13, 143 minutes; Thor (6:00-8:00): PG-13, 112 minutes.

Join us on the Walnut Street lawn for tons of excitement:Sidewalk chalk,bounce houses,a velcro wall,teen tricycles and more. We'll have pizza,snacks and drinks, and outdoor fun for infants-teens. Mom and dad may want to bring a lawn chair or blanket and listen to the MacDaddys perform a family friendly concert. Please note: In order to ensure patron safety, Walnut Street will be closed between 6th and 7th Streets during this event.
