Ages 11-18: Safe Sitter® is a one-day, nationally certified course designed for children ages 11 to 18. Taught in a fun and interactive format, Safe Sitter® teaches participants safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. In a Safe Sitter® class, students learn through lively discussion, practice and role-play about a variety of topics, including babysitting ethics and etiquette and the business aspects of babysitting. Free to those who register. Lunch provided to participants. Parent permission slip and photo release required prior to start of class. The Battle of the Books is
almost here! Join the Vigo County Public Library, the Vigo County School
Corporation and the Indiana Humanities for a novel conversation with Young
Hoosier Book Award Nominee John David Anderson. Dave, as he prefers to be
called, will talk about the forces of inspiration and imagination and the need
for young readers and writers to be the heroes of their own stories. This
Special event is being held at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School
Auditorium. Speaker starts at 6pm with book signing to follow.
