General Questions

  • Where can I get a class schedule?

    You can view a calendar version here, or you can find a list version here. You can also visit the Main Library or the West Branch to pick up a copy.

  • What kind of classes do you offer?

    The VCPL offer a variety of in-person classes, ranging from how to use the mouse and keyboard, to more advanced classes like Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive. For a list of classes given by VCPL Trainers click here.

  • Do the classes cost anything?

    All classes are free.

  • How long are the classes?

    Each class happens one time, and ranges from one hour to three hours, depending on the class. Registering for the first in a series, (ex. Word 1), does not automatically register you for the next one (ex. Word 2).

  • Do you offer one-to-one help?

    Yes. You may request a Book-A-Librarian session. These are 30 minutes long. Please visit Book-A-Librarian, or call 232-1110 to set up an appointment.

Registration Questions

  • When can I register for classes?

    As soon as the classes are posted on the Events Calendar, you can register for the class. Classes will be available for registration during the first week of the month previous to when the classes will be held. For example, you can register for a March class by the end of the first full week of February.

  • Is there a limit on the number of classes I can take?

    There is no limit to the number of classes you can take.

  • What if I can’t make a class I registered for?

    Please call 232-1110 and let us know that you can’t make it. Be sure to give your name, the class name, and the date of the class.

  • What if I don’t live near the Main Library?

    In-person classes are also available at West Branch or online via Gale Courses.

  • Can I schedule classes specifically for my company/organization?

    Yes. Please call 232-1113 ext 2283 for more information.
