Vigo County Public Library is seeking a creative individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in marketing and graphic design for the full-time or part-time non-exempt position of Communications Specialist. This position offers 40 hours per week for full-time or 20 hours per week for part-time in the Strategic Communications Department with a work schedule that is generally during the daytime hours of Monday through Friday but does require the flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, or current enrollment toward degree, is required. The Communications Specialist is responsible for building the Library’s brand on multiple communication platforms including internal and external print and digital communications, and social media channels; assisting in the strategic brainstorming, organization, development, and implementation of public relations and marketing initiatives; and assisting with programs, events, and marketing activities to support the Library's goals and objectives.
